Eric Kirchhoff’s experience in the building design, construction, and energy engineering sector is extensive. His expertise is broad, including a diverse range of roles. While at SoCalGas he has managed its account executives, led energy engineering teams, led the emerging technologies team, established SoCalGas’s foodservice testing lab, and crafted utility energy-efficiency portfolio implementation plans. Outside of the utility environment, Eric has served as an associate partner for a building mechanical/plumbing/fire-protection design firm, lead design teams, oversaw construction sites as chief engineer.

Along the way, Eric has also been recognized for innovation and leadership. He has contributed to the engineering community through presentations and papers for organizations such as the International District Energy Association, ASHRAE, AEE, and ECS. His topics have covered an array of subjects, from virtual chiller plants and energy efficiency policy to passive cooling systems and foodservice equipment testing.

Eric is a licensed Professional Engineer in Mechanical Engineering and is proud that has helped to advance the field of energy use management.  He strongly believes in promoting and practicing a commitment to creativity, practicality, and sensibility in engineering and management.
