Throughout his career John has demonstrated his leadership in business operations and management and has been a catalyst for change, utilizing technology, process and people to generate positive and improved business outcomes. He is a versatile business and operations leader with 25 years of experience in operations management, program management, and product development with expertise in strategic planning, lean manufacturing, quality assurance, R&D, and supply chain.
John began his career in the U.S Navy as Nuclear Submarine officer, where he served as Chief Engineer of a submarine overseeing the maintenance and operation of the submarine nuclear propulsion plant. Following his transition to the civilian sector, John held positions as Plant Manager, Engineering Manager, and Director of Operations for manufacturing facilities in Mexico. He also led corporate-wide initiatives with business unit and marketing executives to define product strategies, manage product lines, and supervise engineering activities that included hardware/software development, mechanical design, engineering testing, value engineering, regulatory compliance, manufacturing support, and quality improvement.
John subsequently entered the energy industry as a Senior Account Executive with SDG&E Business Services, where he supported major accounts in the manufacturing and industrial segment and connected customers with various programs to support their energy and sustainability goals. As a primary customer interface with SDG&Eās large manufacturing accounts, John developed relationships with senior executives, providing customer service and energy consulting, and leading projects with internal departments to accomplish customer goals.
John is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and holds a BS in Nuclear Engineering from MIT and a MA in Management from the University of Redlands.
